1. Accepting these terms
By downloading, installing, or using Focus Browser or this website, you confirm that you have read and accept these terms. If you do not agree, do not use BDV-operated services and uninstall the official build. Mandatory consumer rights continue to apply regardless of these terms.
2. Operator and product
Focus Browser is provided by BDV to users worldwide. Contact contact@focusbrowser.app for legal, product, and user-support questions. These terms do not govern third-party websites or services opened through the browser.
3. Age and authority
You must have the legal capacity required to accept these terms where you live. If local law requires permission from a parent or guardian, you may use the product only with that permission. If you use the product for an organization, you confirm that you can bind that organization to these terms.
4. License and open-source software
Focus Browser code and included components are distributed under the licenses identified in the source repository and accompanying notices. Where a separate license applies to a file or component, that license controls copying, modification, and distribution; these terms do not reduce the rights it grants.
For BDV materials without a separate license, BDV grants a limited, non-exclusive, revocable right to use them with the official product for lawful purposes. Trademarks, visual identity, and domains are not automatically licensed with source code.
5. Acceptable use
When using the website and BDV-operated update channels, you must not violate law, seek unauthorized access, disrupt infrastructure, distribute malicious code, bypass technical service restrictions, or represent an unofficial build as an official BDV build.
This does not prohibit security research, interoperability, modification, or distribution permitted by an applicable open-source license and law, provided you act in good faith and accurately identify the origin of your build.
6. Updates and availability
Focus Browser may check for updates and offer to install them. Updates may fix security issues, change features, or end support for older versions. Where the interface allows, you may postpone or skip an update, but an outdated build may be less secure or stop working with some websites.
BDV may change, temporarily suspend, or discontinue distribution of the product or individual online functions. We try to give notice of material changes but do not promise permanent availability of every service.
7. Third-party sites, services, and components
The browser opens third-party content and may interact with your selected search engine, extension stores, component-update services, media services, and other providers. BDV does not control their content, availability, security, or rules. Your use of those resources is governed by your relationship with the relevant provider.
Blocking ads, trackers, or distracting elements may reduce some risks but does not guarantee detection of every unwanted request or the safety of every website.
8. Privacy
The Privacy Policy describes processing connected with the website, product, and support. You decide which websites to visit, which extensions to install, and which search or content providers receive your requests.
9. Your profile and security
You are responsible for protecting your device, browser profile, saved passwords, and backups of important data. Before installing a new build or changing a profile, make a backup where data loss could cause harm. Do not share diagnostic material until you have removed cookies, tokens, history, passwords, and other confidential information.
10. Intellectual property
Except for rights granted under open-source licenses, BDV and the relevant owners retain rights in the product, website, copy, graphics, trademarks, and other materials. Mention of a third-party product does not imply endorsement, partnership, or transfer of rights in its marks.
11. Disclaimers
To the extent permitted by law, the product and website are provided “as is” and “as available.” BDV does not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation, compatibility with every website, complete protection against threats, or fitness for a particular purpose. Nothing here excludes warranties or remedies that applicable law does not allow us to exclude.
12. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, BDV is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss, loss of data, profit, or use arising from the product, website, or third-party content. This limitation does not apply where liability cannot lawfully be limited, including intentional misconduct and other mandatory grounds.
13. Applicable law and disputes
Mandatory laws and consumer rights where you live continue to apply. If a dispute cannot be resolved directly, applicable law and the competent court are determined by mandatory rules and ordinary conflict-of-law principles; these terms do not impose an unspecified jurisdiction or mandatory arbitration.
14. Changes and ending use
BDV may update these terms. A revised version will be posted here with a new date, and we will try to provide prominent notice of material changes. You may end these terms for yourself by stopping use of the website and uninstalling the official build; provisions that are intended to survive will continue to apply.
